Kanko Arts Foundation's instructors and performers are carefully selected for their authenticity, knowledge and enthusiasm, as well as their ability to impart their skills to diverse groups. Our artist have professional qualifications in the performing and visual arts. In our team are master artists in drumming, dancing, weaving, painting, textiles and storytelling. When needed, we call upon freelance artists, choreographers, scholars, linguists and other experts.
At the Kanko Cultural Institute (KCI) in Accra, Ghana we train individuals in the performing and visual arts and we also liaise with other institutes and agencies in Ghana.
Our team performs
1. choreographed dance pieces from the deep-rooted musical traditions of Ghana
2. traditional and authentic music
3. recreational and royal dances
The team is also skilled in involving all those attending a workshop so that they are inspired by the experience and gain a true feeling for whatever activity they undertake.
