Aim:
In the Akan language of Ghana, Kanko (pronounced Can-Core) means moving forward or progressing – and this is exactly what we aim to do. In the time-honoured way, we at Kanko Arts Foundation seek to break down multicultural barriers through promoting diveres cultures.
Vision:
Kanko Arts Foundation utilise it's member’s gifts and talents in African arts and crafts to share the African culture in the UK with adults and children in schools, colleges, universities and local organisations. By twinning the UK schools with African schools, the foundation is able to ‘give a less fortunate African child an education’ simultaneously educating UK children with principles and values to ‘help others help themselves’. By standing ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with people around the world we are able to offer others ‘a hand up and not a hand out’.
Mission:
Kanko Arts Foundation's mission is to set a standard by which all other multicultural educational activities are measured, through the value placed on cultural awareness and diversity.
